Carjack-ass

Lately there was an event that is supposedly a breakthrough in rampant “carjacking” cases in MetroManila. Four men were shot dead by law enforcers of the metro after a said “hot pursuit” (as according to one account). By the way, carjacking is different from carnapping. The former uses force to steal the vehicle by use of gunpoint or blocking the driveway of the motorist. There are lots of modus operandi of different gangs in the city. The latter perhaps was common since they steal the vehicle which is left unattended by the motorist. Usually it is parked.

Because of the advances in security of vehicles that made stealing the vehicle difficult, some crime organizations and criminals resort to taking the vehicle by force in order to resell it to the market.

I don’t know the very details of the said event that once shown the law enforcer’s honesty in doing crime busting. Four people were said to have stolen a car and had a hot pursuit. When the police cornered them, there was a violent exchange of gunfire. Then silence. It was an image of victory for law enforcers…but later this was short-lived.

A cameraman of a UHF-TV channel secretly took shot of the event that was happening just outside where he’s in. Because of this, the grusome picture of brutality that was manifested. The alleged suspects were shot dead already, but the question: after probing the suspects who are already dead, I think, why did they took another shot to the suspects? Was this Coup d-grace? Or are they making sure that they’re dead?

Questions
It was a clear manifestation of the violation of human rights. If the investigation (which is ongoing until now) reveals that the alleged suspects were indeed still breathing when the last gunshots were fired upon them, then this would be a very big blow for the police who maintains an image of being a good law enforcer. Was it a manifestation of police brutality?

I have never seen such concrete image of human rights violation as this. Even criminals have the right to live and judged fairly. The police were supposed to bring those alleged suspects to the hospital instead of giving “a dead-on-the-spot privelage.”

And again, the number one enemy of the UP community uttered such foolish words again that “don’t judge the law enforcers…the suspects are dead, so whats the big fuzz…there’s no human rights violation since you already shot them dead.” This man has gone to far with his mouth!

There are so much to learn about this single event. Rampant crimes, human rights violation and keeping someone’s mouth shut. Its to early to conclude everything that happened in this shocking event. In a country that has been plagued with misdoings and the like, how can this land heal itself from the injury that she inflicted from within herself.

What’s happening with this world? Has everyone gone crazy?!
